New England for the begining of October!

I really wanted to go to New England this year. . .but Jeff was way too busy with work (AKA hunting) to go. So on one of Jeff's work trips (hunting up in Montana for Elk) he and his buddy Sean were talking about work stuff (how to get their wives off their backs) and they came up with a brilliant idea! Send Jen and Monica (Seans wife) to New England. So before Monica or I could realize it the boys had booked us plane tickets and rented a car for us, and we were set to fly out in three days!
Monica was a little stressed with the trip being sprung on her, she has a job and two boys, but Sean assured her everything would be fine. He could take care of the boys and work could wait. So we were off to New England! On the way to the airport Monica called Sean just to see how the morning was going. Sean was just starting to get the kids ready for school, which Monica kindly pointed out, "It is 8:18 and he is late at 8:30". At 8:45 Monica called back to see how it went. Their son went to school that day without breakfast, socks, or jacket, was wearing his torn up sweats, and was late. I'm sure it didn't take long for his teacher to realize something was up. Sean was a good sport and each phone call from him was quite entertaining, for us at least.
New England in the fall was beautiful and did not disappoint!




Everyday we just went where the wind blew us, and had a lot of fun making plans on the fly. We got massages, went on a train ride, swam, hiked, drove around and ATE! So thank you husbands! And thank you Monica for putting up with me for a week. I had a really good time.
