The Greatest Gift of ALL!

We love Christmas! Our proof is in the pudding. The day after Thanksgiving I was nagging Jeff to get our Christmas tree out of the basement. I of course played the pregnancy card and just took pictures of the event.
This is Jeff pushing the tree up the stairs. Mind you it weighs a mere 130 lbs and is a very portable, manageable size.

I am pretty sure that if you look closely you will see that Jeff is smiling with Christmas cheer. You should have heard as he tried to push that tree around the corner of the stairs. He would have made an sailor proud. I was certainly proud. Alright so I made that part up.
We just love the spirit of Christmas, there is something about the Christmas season that changes everyone. People are just more caring, courteous and giving. I used to think it had something to do with people looking outward to bless others. This Christmas I have realized how wrong I have been.
We have been captivated by the spirit of receiving, the giving part. . .not so much.
And now I realize. . . that is why people are so caring courteous and giving! They are thinking about all the great gifts they are going to get, they are buying things for others just thinking, "I wonder what they will get me! I'll give my gift first, I'll leave the price tag on so they will think I spent 50.00$, although I really only spent 25.00$. And then they will have to spend at least 50.00$ on me! Wa ha ha ha!"
Our lives have been changed forever. We will never look at receiving gifts the same. From now on, each gift will just be something to fain amusement about, and then throw aside. They will never compare.
Now readers I am not saying that you should bag giving us Christmas gifts in the future. This should ignite some loving competitive testosterone and you should be uping the ante. It is not too late to try and outdo yourselves! I am so full of the Christmas spirit right now I can hardly contain it.
This Christmas we received a gift that truly will keep giving.
This is us enjoying our gift!

Meet Roomba! He is our new Friend, Pet, Housecleaner!

He just scoots around the house cleaning! So far he hasn't saved me any time, because when he is working, I am so enthralled with him, I just sit around and watch him. I cheer him on. Sometimes I supervise him, other times I show him the spots he missed, and occasionally I get mad at him. You see, he has this little blue light he turns on when he finds a spot that he thinks are extra dirty. I think he turns it on to make sure I realize where I am dropping the ball. He kind of makes a noise like he is really having to amp up the suctioning power, then gives me a look and condescendingly turns on his blue light. So at these times I argue with him and get mad. Jeff is following him around right now, he isn't talking to him in the same manner I feel is necessary to encourage him to keep up the good work, but he is following him.

Here he is in action. Notice there is no blue light on.
So, we were going to name our firstborn Jose, but now I think we will name roomba - Jose. It is quite appropriate. And I feel totally justified in only having two children, Jose and the one I am growing. They can be brothers. He is going to have a lot to live up to with a brother like Jose! Thank you Ollie, Renee and Jet for such a cool Christmas present. I am pretty sure that after people read this blog, you will have some new friends.
Now in all honesty and with all sarcasm about Christmas put aside. Christmas really is an amazing time of the year. I hope everyone cries a tear of gratitude this Christmas, thinks of the blessing Christ is to all of us, and is reminded of what is important in life. Merry Christmas!

Jen, you are too funny :) My MIL's best friend is her roomba. They were rearrangin the other day and had to vacuum the bottom of the couch when it was tilted up and she doesn't even know where her vacuum is, she just got out the roomba and held it up against the couch :)

I love that you "supervise" it- I'd totally do the same!

Jen, what have those pregnancy hormones done to you?? I see now why you left the price tag on my gift you conveniently brought up to me WAY before Christmas...... And why didn't you get me a roomba for Christmas?? Wow that thing looks amazing. I wonder if Maggie would still be scared of it. I don't think she would realize it's a vacuum :) It might try to vacuum her up...

Jen you crack me up! I hope I get to see Jose at work sometime, we can sit and watch him together. Can't wait to see you guys in a few days. I want to say hi to my little nephew (the one in your belly, not Jose).
