Lake Powell

These are the pictures you get when your little cousins love your camera and pretty much confiscate it for the week at Powell. Notice everything is taken from about three feet off the floor. And everyone is looking really great.

This picture explains what I woke up to one night around four as Ez was sleeping in the closet (footage to come. . .probably be turned into child protective services) and he was doing his grunting, kinda awake, kinda asleep noises. Now I was doing what any good mother does, trying to ignore the noise and wishing I had another pillow to cover up the noise. I had better clarify. A pillow to put over my head, not Ez's to silence the noise. Child Protective Services can't get me that easy. . . anyways while this battle against sleep is being waged in my head I become faintly aware of another presence in the room. I sat up just in time to see grandma bending down to Ez. I said, "Hey grandma what you doing". She responded, "This is Dallas I can take the baby". So this picture shows what Ez's fate would have been had I not awakened.

Now grandma is a great gal, sadly she is getting old and losing her memory. But she had a lot of fun at Lake Powell and we are glad she is still around to fuss over us. The whole week she was worried about where everyone was going to sleep and she was trying to make us up some beds.

This next picture shows exactly what Ez has to endure. Now you know on Finding Nemo how all the birds are trying to eat Nemo when he lands on the dock? They are all yelling Mine! Mine? Mine! That is what it is like with my sister and mom both around. They fight over Ez the minute he wakes up, and who ever doesn't win watches the other and waits to point out how they aren't holding Ez's head right, or how he doesn't like them, or how he is asking to be held by them, so that they can have him. I quite enjoy the banter. I'm not sure how Ez feels about it, he has chosen not to comment.

Any guesses as to what nationality this little gal is? Mind you this is a picture at Lake Powell in the 95 degree heat at three in the afternoon. Please cast your votes. And if you don't guess right. . .well then I have taught you nothing at all. NOTHING

We wakeboarded and fished and surfed and tubed and swam and ate. It was a really good time. My little cousins were adorable. Here is some footage of the kids after they caught a fish. Please note Charley is the worlds biggest 3 year old and pay attention to what he wants to do with the fish. Now the little gal who caught the fish is Abby and she is the worlds smallest 7 year old and the little gal who shows up at the end is the only sibling who is growing at a normal rate and she is 5 year old Grace.

Lastly this tells the story of the drama in my life. Before long Ez will be up and walking and I'll have two little boys who are always hitting their heads.

Glad you caught footage of the closet Ez was in to make things easier for CPS :) He's so so good to just sleep thru it all and not complain!

Ez looks so sweet in his blessing outfit! I wish I could've been there. And that hat makes him look so grown up! I've been laughing for the last 10 mins reading all your updates...It's 4am and I'm bored at work so thanks for the entertainment, I know I can always count on you!
